- The story Climbing the wall of empathy, Seeing Floki.
- Writing exercises
- Observation exercises
- Reflection and discussion questions
Depending on whether you take the theme alone or as a part of a group, there are different approaches to working with the content:
If you work with this theme alone

Focus on the writing exercises described under “Understanding applied ethnography.” As you proceed, notice what in your writing process is easy and difficult respectively. Notice how moving through the material (story, illustration, interview, and reflections from the two social workers) allows you to improve your writing according to the 7 key features of applied ethnography. If you work with the theme alone, the purpose is to become more aware of your strengths and difficulties as a writer and to train your ability to write in a more holistic manner.
If you work with this theme as a group
Start by doing the writing exercises individually (the writing exercises can be done as preparation). Then discuss your experience in the group.
